01 · Plan Ahead

Payment, Insurance & Receipts

Helpful details for guests who need a receipt or plan to ask their benefit administrator about possible reimbursement.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Available payment methods are shown during checkout and at the spa. Please bring the card or payment method you plan to use for your appointment.

Do you accept health insurance?

No. Avy Spa does not bill insurance companies or process insurance claims directly.

Can I pay directly with an HSA or FSA card?

Avy Spa does not process HSA or FSA cards directly. Coverage and eligibility vary by plan, so please check with your plan administrator before booking.

Can you provide an itemized receipt?

Yes. An itemized receipt can be provided upon request after your completed appointment. Tell the front desk what information your plan administrator requires.

Does an itemized receipt guarantee reimbursement?

No. A receipt documents the service you received, but reimbursement decisions are made by your insurance or benefit-plan administrator. Avy Spa cannot guarantee approval or payment.

Can you change the service description on my receipt?

Receipts must accurately describe the service that was provided. We can include available appointment and payment details, but we cannot mislabel a service or guarantee that a plan will accept it.

02 · Before You Arrive

Booking & Arrival

A little planning protects your full hands-on time and gives your therapist room to personalize the session.

How do I book an appointment?

Use Avy Spa online booking to view current massage services and available times. You may also call (650) 855-2833 for help.

How early should I arrive?

Please arrive a few minutes early, especially for your first visit, so you have time to check in, use the restroom and discuss your preferences without reducing your scheduled session.

What happens if I arrive late?

Your session may need to end at the original scheduled time so the next guest is not delayed. The appointment price may still apply, so call us as soon as you know you are running late.

Do first-time guests need to complete anything?

You may be asked for basic contact, health and preference information. Share recent injuries, areas to avoid, pressure preferences and anything that may affect comfort or safety.

Can I request a specific therapist?

Yes, when that therapist is available. Choose the therapist during online booking or call the spa for help finding an appointment.

How do I choose 60, 90 or 120 minutes?

Choose 60 minutes for a focused session, 90 minutes when several connected areas need attention, and 120 minutes when you want unhurried full-body work plus focused care. Your therapist will confirm priorities before beginning.

03 · Respecting Reserved Time

Changes, Cancellations & Guest Policies

Your booking confirmation contains the policy that applies to your appointment. Contact the spa promptly when plans change.

How do I reschedule or cancel?

Use the option in your booking confirmation or contact Avy Spa as soon as possible. The cancellation terms shown with your reservation apply to that appointment.

Is there a late-cancellation or missed-appointment charge?

A fee may apply according to the cancellation terms accepted when you booked. Reserved time is held specifically for you and may be difficult to refill with short notice.

What if I wake up sick?

Please do not come to the spa when you have a fever, contagious symptoms or feel acutely unwell. Contact us promptly so the team can guide you based on the booking policy and timing.

Can another person use my appointment?

Please contact the spa before changing the guest name. The new guest must be eligible for the booked service and complete any required intake information.

Are children allowed in the treatment area?

The spa is designed to remain quiet and private. Please arrange childcare unless Avy Spa has confirmed a suitable plan in advance.

What behavior is expected during a massage?

Professional and respectful behavior is required at all times. Any inappropriate request or conduct may end the session immediately, and the appointment charge may still apply.

04 · Comfort Comes First

Your Massage Experience

You are always welcome to speak up about pressure, temperature, positioning, focus areas or anything that affects your comfort.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing to the spa. Your therapist will explain what is appropriate for the booked service and will leave the room while you prepare.

Do I have to remove all my clothing?

No. Undress only to your comfort level. Professional draping is used, and only the area being worked on is uncovered.

Can I ask for lighter or deeper pressure?

Yes. Pressure is personalized and can be adjusted at any time. Deeper is not always better, and your therapist may recommend a gradual approach for sensitive or irritated areas.

Can I ask the therapist to avoid an area?

Absolutely. Identify any area you do not want touched before the session, and speak up if you want the plan changed at any point.

Can the session focus on one problem area?

Yes. Tell your therapist where you feel tightness and what you want from the appointment. They may also explain how nearby muscle areas connect to the place that feels uncomfortable.

Do I need to talk during the massage?

No. Brief feedback about pressure and comfort is helpful, but otherwise you may relax quietly. Your therapist will follow your preference for conversation.

Can two guests book at the same time?

Use the Couples Massage option or contact the spa to check therapist and room availability for the time you prefer.

05 · Massage Safety

Health, Injuries & When to Wait

Massage supports relaxation and muscular comfort, but it is not a substitute for medical evaluation or emergency care.

Should I tell my therapist about medical conditions or medications?

Yes. Share relevant health conditions, medications, allergies, recent procedures and physician restrictions before the session. This helps the therapist decide whether the service can be performed safely or needs adjustment.

Can I receive massage after a recent injury or procedure?

Ask your licensed healthcare professional first when an injury or procedure is recent, serious or still being evaluated. Bring any clear restrictions and tell the therapist before the session begins.

When should I postpone massage?

Postpone when you have fever, contagious illness, an unexplained rash, an acute injury or another condition that could make massage unsafe. Seek appropriate medical care for new or concerning symptoms.

Can massage diagnose or treat a medical condition?

No. Avy Spa does not diagnose medical conditions. Massage is provided for relaxation, muscular tension and general wellness within the therapist’s professional scope.

What if something feels painful, numb or unsafe during the session?

Tell the therapist immediately. Pressure, technique or positioning can be changed or stopped. For severe, sudden or worsening symptoms, seek medical evaluation rather than continuing massage.

06 · Personalize Your Visit

Services, Enhancements & Location

Choose the massage time first, then add a compatible enhancement when you want a more customized experience.

Can I book a massage enhancement by itself?

No. Enhancements are available only with a scheduled massage and cannot be booked as stand-alone services.

Do enhancements add extra appointment time?

Unless the booking description specifically says otherwise, an enhancement is integrated into your scheduled massage time. Choose a longer massage when you want several focus areas plus an enhancement without feeling rushed.

How do I choose the right massage or enhancement?

Start with what your body feels like—tight, tired, sore, heavy or in need of relaxation—then review Massage Services & Pricing. Your therapist will confirm the final focus and comfort level.

Is hot stone available?

Hot stone availability depends on the massage selected and any health considerations. Review the service description when booking and tell the therapist if you prefer less heat or want to skip it.
